Cacao seeds, or cocoa beans, are processed in order to obtain a mixture of cocoa solids and cocoa butter, the basic ingredients for preparing delicious chocolate bars, to which sugar, nuts or other ingredients are added.
Alce Nero fair trade chocolate snacks and chocolate bars are made with cocoa from plants grown by our partner producers in Costa Rica, in the heart of Central America, according to Fairtrade rules. The cocoa pods are harvested, the beans are roasted and the exceptional skill of a long-established Swiss maison chocolatier subsequently transforms them into delicious products which appeal to the young and old alike.
